Every once in a while, you have to stop and ask about the human side of being a leader of people. As odd as that sounds, today’s business world is a bit too focused on earnings, results, and output.
We need a reminder about what it means to consider the truly human side of leadership.
In this episode, I visit with Emily Sander, herself a coach and advisor to leaders. Emily is a C-Suite Executive and Founder of Next Level Coaching. As an ICF-Certified Coach, she guides clients toward new perspectives that enable them to adapt and evolve as leaders.
She is the author of the book Hacking Executive Leadership Emily grew up in Seattle, and was fortunate enough to start her career at two smallish companies you may have heard of — Microsoft and Amazon.
Fun fact: She was a tester on the first version of the Kindle device, which was under wraps at the time. She couldn’t tell family or friends what she was working on. It launched right before Christmas, and she soon found myself trying to explain to people what an e-reader was — now they’re ubiquitous! It just goes to show that you never know what your current project might lead to.
